Happy Friday everyone!

Back to school. Here’s a breakdown of my best insights, tools & strategies for the post-summer blues:

Best book I read this summer: Atmamun - the Path to Achieving the Bliss of the Himalayan Swamis and the Freedom of a Living God.

Yes, that’s the title. I am still digesting the book, but I expect it will reach my top 5 books ever read. It is the most wisdom-packed book I’ve ever read.

Here’s a typical quote:

“whether something is possible or impossible is not your business. Success and failure are ideas that will only serve as a burden on your quest. Rather than finding the thing you can imagine yourself becoming, find the thing that you simply cannot imagine yourself not becoming.”

Best Tweet I came across:

Someone asked the question: “If you meet a new person you're strongly drawn to (romantically or just as a human), how do you balance pursuing them proactively and not chasing them?” This was a brilliant answer:

@Maadhavak when i meet someone who i think is awesome: - i tell them - i find excuses for us to do life together

Best podcast I listened to: If you’re not ready to go full Himalayan-swami-living-god just yet, check out this podcast by Kapil Gupta (author of the first book above):

What I’m fascinated by: I took a writing course over the summer and it was pretty dope.

I’ve used writing to sell over a million $$ of online products and raise over $10M for startups. I’ve also built my audience of nearly 400,000 people on the back of great scripts.

Yet I still learned A LOT, so I did a deep-dive on the best golden nuggets I learned which you can find here:

DEEP DIVE - How to become a dangerously good writer in 10 min ✍️💲

One of my biggest takeaways was that virality beats consistency.

The right viral post can change your life. Better take fewer hard swings at the stars than being prolific (and mediocre) just for the sake of it. This can be applied to everything in life. Work, risk, relationships, health, etc.

Lions sprint, feast, rest, celebrate.
Cows just graze all day.

Be a lion.

This is possible because virality can be engineered. I took a month off from posting on TikTok, which is the algorithm-equivalent of not texting your first date back for a month. Not great.

My post broke all the traditional TikTok rules. But instead of “posting for the sake of it”, I scripted it for virality. I have a thousand new readers today to thank for it.

So if you’re new here - welcome!

I wish you all an excellent weekend and send you much love from the sunny south of France,

Alex.

P.S. My wife and I went to a wedding in Italy this summer. Here I am, admiring how much fun it looks like we’re having. Dancing with espresso, grazie mille. But then I realized my wife’s juggling the coffee cup AND the saucer in one hand. I’m still amazed.

P.P.S. A lot of you have asked about the most useful products/tools I use on a daily basis to manage my money & life so here it is:

Products I use (almost) every day:

  1. Interactive Brokers. This is where I buy all my stocks (and some of my crypto). It’s hands-down the best investment platform in the world. To receive up to $1,000 worth of Interactive Brokers stock (up 100% in the last year) for free, open an account using this link.

  2. BlockFi. I use BlockFi to earn interest on my Ether (Ethereum). If you want to earn interest on your crypto (up to 6% per year on your Bitcoin and 5.5% on your ETH), open an account at BlockFi using this link.

  3. In my attempt to optimize for longevity and vitality, I use the Whoop strap to measure exactly how much sleep and exercise I need on a daily basis. It’s the best investment I’ve made in years, and you can get your first month free by signing up with this link.
