I have property in Portugal and my husband is Portuguese. I’m curious how you concluded that taxes are 0 for rental income, capital gains, etc, that’s not what I see. I’m at 0 taxes in Netherlands at the moment, considering Portugal as a residence but I’m unsure if taxes are so favorable.
I have not lived in Portugal - no, but in big cities (like Lisbon) you can get by without too much Portuguese. However, if you want to really integrate yourself into society, I always recommend learning the local language, no matter where you are. If will just make your life a lot easier.
