2021 was a good year. If you were invested in crypto from start to finish, congratulations. You made a lot of money.

Naturally, some projects did better than others.

Bitcoin doubled. Ethereum is up 6X. Decentraland is up 40X. And Solana is up 100X.

If you just held the crypto market globally, you’re up 4X.

2021 was also the year some crypto segments exploded.

The total value of money locked up in Decentralized Finance (DeFi) skyrocketed 1,600%.

And the total value of NFTs built on Ethereum alone increased by 15,000%.

These are astonishing numbers, especially for a year in which:

• Gold was down -10%

• Global bonds were down -2%

• Global stocks were up 20%

Naturally, a lot of people will tell you that the market is about to crash, that we’re in a bubble, or that valuations are crazy.

Some of my former colleagues got out of the stock market because stocks were too expensive… in 2015.
